Recap of FOOD CONNECT 2025: Where Innovation Meets Hygienic Design
With our FOOD CONNECT 2025 event on November 13 in Lübeck, we created a dedicated platform for professionals from the fields of production, packaging, and automation. At the heart of our in-house event were hands-on knowledge sharing, cutting-edge technologies, and a clear focus: boosting efficiency in industrial food packaging.
Live Demonstrations: Two Fully Automated Lines in Action
One of the highlights of the event was the live demonstration of two fully automated packaging lines, each featuring the BVP gross pneumatic packer as the central element. The demonstrations showcased how production processes in the food industry can be made even more efficient, secure, and flexible – precisely tailored to industry-specific requirements.
High Process Stability and Performance for the Food Sector
The first full-line system demonstrated how two parallel bagging lines can be combined with an FIBC filling station, enabling maximum flexibility in handling varying product demands. This is made possible by custom programming, seamlessly integrated into the customer’s existing control system.
The line is equipped with multiple fully automated modules, all designed for high process stability and performance – achieving up to 700 bags per hour:
- Nozzle suction system – automatic positioning to the filling nozzle with integrated residual suction during product changeovers
- Fully automated, format-adaptive centering, even with constantly changing bag sizes
- Height adjustment (leveling) – automatic height positioning to match each incoming bag for consistently optimal alignment
- VeloPack turbo palletizing robot – a pneumatic gripper that automatically adjusts to the bag format during pick-up
Each setting is automatically adjusted for every individual bag – independently and in real time. This ensures high output, reliable processes, and consistent, reproducible results across all ordered bag formats.
Hygiene at the Highest Level: Line with Integrated Wet Cleaning
A special focus was placed on the packaging line developed specifically for our customer Lactoprot. Thanks to an integrated wet cleaning system, the risk of cross-contamination from allergens is effectively minimized – a crucial factor in hygienic design, and a key building block for process safety and product protection.
This topic was further explored in a specialist presentation by Dr. Maximilian Anders, Application Engineer at GREIF-VELOX.
Exchange at Eye Level: Strengthening Networks and Broadening Perspectives
In addition to technical innovations, FOOD CONNECT 2025 offered valuable opportunities for open dialogue and networking. Lively discussions with industry peers, experts, and our own team sparked fresh ideas and forged new connections that will continue to resonate well beyond the event.
