GREIF-VELOX BVP: How Reagens Significantly Reduced Cleaning Times with Residual Emptying Function
Efficient filling of micronized waxes with our gross pneumatic packer
When it comes to handling fine, sticky products like micronized waxes, quick changeovers and easy cleaning are essential. Especially in processes with frequent product changes, long downtimes have a direct impact on productivity. Together with Reagens Deutschland GmbH, we addressed this challenge with a targeted solution: the use of our BVP air packer featuring a dedicated residual emptying function.
The Challenge: Cleaning Effort with Sticky Products
At its Loxstedt site, Reagens previously used manual systems for filling high-viscosity products. These systems regularly left up to one kilogram of product in the filling vessel. The resulting cleaning effort – particularly with sticky and slow-flowing materials – became a clear bottleneck in the production process.
The Solution: BVP with Optimized Vessel Outlet and Air Flush System
By implementing the GREIF-VELOX BVP gross pneumatic packer, Reagens was able to significantly reduce cleaning time after each filling process. The specially designed vessel outlet, combined with an integrated air flush system, ensures that less than 12 grams of product residue remain inside the vessel. The result: cleaning time was cut from 30 minutes to just 5 minutes.
Tangible Benefits for the Customer
In addition to its residual emptying capabilities, the BVP offers several other advantages:
- Storage of product-specific parameters for faster changeovers
- Easy access for visual inspections and maintenance
- Suitable for wet cleaning procedures
- Compact design for seamless integration into existing spaces
“We couldn’t believe our eyes – despite the highly adhesive products, the air packer was left broom-clean,” reports Heiko Sievern, Technical Director at Reagens Deutschland GmbH. For Reagens, the reduced cleaning time is a crucial advantage in their daily operations involving multiple product changes.
